THE GRANT CENTER'S TRAINING POLICIES

PLEASE REVIEW THESE POLICIES CAREFULLY. BY SUBMITTING A WORKSHOP REGISTRATION OR PURCHASING A TRAINING PACKAGE, YOU ARE ACKNOWLEDGING THAT YOU HAVE READ, AND THAT YOU ACCEPT, THESE TRAINING POLICIES.

Please pay special attention to these changes in The Grant Center's training policies:
  • All workshop fees must be paid in full prior to the start of the workshop. The Grant Center now accepts online payments via PayPal. Invoicing for payment of fees after attending a workshop is no longer available.
  • An Early Payment Discount of $10.00 is applied to registrations that are PAID IN FULL and received at least 10 business days prior to the workshop date.
  • Paid registrants who become unable to attend a workshop may request in writing a refund voucher equal to the value of the workshop fee paid. No cash or other refund is available.
  • If The Grant Center must cancel a workshop for any reason, paid registrants will receive a refund voucher. If a workshop is rescheduled, paid registrants will receive a refund voucher if they notify The Grant Center in writing that they can not attend on the rescheduled date.

Registration
Registration forms may be obtained at The Grant Center, at workshop sites, and via download from The Center's website. Online registration and payment forms are also available on the website. Completed forms may be submitted:

  • online,
  • by fax to The Grant Center office at (901) 684-6616,
  • by mail to The Grant Center, 606 South Mendenhall, Suite 108, Memphis, TN 38117,
  • or in person at The Grant Center office.

Registration forms will be accepted until 4:00 p.m. on the day before the workshop. Only registrants who have submitted payment in full prior to this deadline will be guaranteed space and materials at a workshop. Walk-in registrations are accepted if space is available.

The Grant Center does NOT accept telephone registrations. If the on-line registration form cannot be submitted successfully, registration information can be sent via email to dcrocker@ grantcenter.org. Please do not send additional email requests to or call The Grant Center staff.

Registrants are not guaranteed admittance to a workshop until payment is received. Confirmation of paid registration will be emailed or faxed from The Grant Center to the registrant within two business days after receipt of payment in full.

All paid registrants will receive an email reminder 24 hours before the scheduled workshop. Please review this email carefully, as workshop dates, times, locations, and facilitators are subject to change.

Early Payment Discount
Registrations that are PAID IN FULL and received at least ten business days before the workshop date will receive a $10.00 discount. The completed registration form and payment must be RECEIVED at The Grant Center by 4:30 p.m. on the early registration cutoff date. The Early Payment deadline for each workshop is listed on The Grant Center website.

Fees and Payment Methods
Registrants will not be permitted to attend a workshop unless full payment has been received. Payments will be accepted at the workshop site; however, space and materials are not guaranteed unless payment in full has been received by 4:00 p.m. on the day before the workshop.

If a participant's organization requires an invoice for the workshop fee, the invoice must be requested from The Grant Center far enough in advance that payment can be received prior to the workshop date.

The Grant Center accepts checks, money orders, and cash. VISA and MASTERCARD are accepted in person at The Grant Center office prior to the day of the workshop or at the workshop site. Please do not write credit card numbers on registration forms. Online payments may be made via PayPal on The Grant Center's website.

Returned checks and declined credit card transactions will incur a $25 fee. Registrants are required to compensate The Grant Center for all fees through cash or money order within 10 days of notice that a check has been returned or a credit card payment has been declined.

Cancelled Registrations
Any registrant wishing to cancel a workshop registration is requested to do so by 4:00 p.m. on the day before the workshop. If a registrant becomes unable to attend a workshop, another member of his/her organization may attend in his/her place.

Refund Vouchers
Paid registrants who become unable to attend a workshop may request in writing, via email or fax to The Grant Center, a refund voucher equal in value to the workshop fee paid. No cash or other refunds will be made. The voucher can be applied to the fee for a future workshop, and will be mailed within two business days after the cancellation request is received. Refund vouchers are valid for six months from the date of the missed workshop. To use a voucher, submit it with the workshop registration form and the balance, if any, of the workshop fee.

Cancelled or Rescheduled Workshops

The Grant Center reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any workshop at any time. Paid registrants will be notified of a cancelled/rescheduled workshop as soon as possible via email and a phone call using the contact information submitted on the registration form.

If a workshop is cancelled, registrants will receive a voucher for the full amount of the workshop fee paid. Vouchers will be mailed within two business days after the workshop, and will be valid for six months from the date the cancelled workshop. Vouchers can be applied to the fee for a future workshop, and are not redeemable for cash.

If a workshop is rescheduled on another date, registrants will automatically be registered for the new date. It is the responsibility of the registrant to notify The Grant Center if he/she is unable to attend on the rescheduled date. If the registrant is unable to attend the workshop on the new date, another member of his/her organization may attend in his/her place. If no one from the organization can attend on the rescheduled date, the registrant may request a refund voucher.

The Grant Center reserves the right to change workshop times, locations, and presenters. Paid registrants will be notified via email and/or phone as far in advance as possible of such changes.

The Grant Center follows the Memphis City Schools' policy for inclement weather, and will contact paid registrants regarding rescheduled dates if a workshop is postponed due to inclement weather.

Special Needs

The Grant Center will make every effort to accommodate any special needs. Please make note of these needs on the registration form or notify The Grant Center by phone or email to dcrocker@grantcenter.org.

Discounted Packages

The Grant Center offers six discounted training packages. Registration and full payment for the package must be received before the purchase deadline for the desired package. A list of available packages and purchase deadlines can be found at www.grantcenter.org/training/packages0506.htm. The early payment discount does not apply to the purchase of training packages.

Package fees are non-refundable. Discount pricing applies only to the specific workshops included in each package; registrants may not substitute other workshops for those included in the package. If a registrant cannot attend all of the workshops in a package, he/she may send another member of his/her organization. No vouchers or other refunds will be issued for workshops purchased as part of a training package. Some workshops are offered more than once; preferred dates for package registrants are indicated on the training calendar. A package registrant can attend any session of an included workshop; however, he/she may only attend each workshop once.

Scholarships

Scholarship funds may be made available through The Grant Center for certain workshops or training packages. The Grant Center will announce the availability of scholarship funds via email, the Open Doors newsletter, The Grant Center website, and/or local media outlets. Scholarship applications may be downloaded from The Grant Center website, picked up at The Grant Center office, or requested via email to mhanson@grantcenter.org. Completed applications must be received by the announced deadline. Recipients will be notified by mail and email.

Scholarship funds are only available for specific workshops or training packages as announced by The Grant Center. At this time, The Center is not able to consider other requests for scholarships or discounted pricing on workshops.

Application for scholarship funds must be made on behalf of an organization, not an individual, and any scholarship award must be used by that organization for the specified workshop or training package. At this time, The Grant Center does not award scholarship funds to individuals.

The organization receiving the scholarship will be responsible for identifying the individual that will attend trainings. If that individual ceases to be employed by the organization, it is the responsibility of the organization to notify The Grant Center and to designate an alternate representative to attend the trainings.

Coupons
From time to time, The Grant Center may issue discount coupons for training sessions. Coupons can only be used via online, fax, mail, or in-person registration by following the instructions on the coupon. Please do not call or email The Grant Center to use a coupon.

If you have any questions regarding these training policies, please contact Melissa Hanson, Manager of Training and Evaluation, at (901) 684-6605 x27 or via email at mhanson@grantcenter.org.
